Who We Are

Cape Town made us and animals inspired us. As a qualified veterinary nurse turned designer, our founder created Hont Co. to reinvent pet essentials with equal parts function and form. Built for pets, styled for people - We're setting a new standard for how pet products should look, feel and live in your home.

Where we came from

Hont Co. was born from years of seeing the same bright plastic bowls, kitchy toys, and clunky collars fill clinic shelves. Functional, yes - but beautiful? not quite. So we set out to reimagine everyday pet items as objects of quiet beauty.

Oh, and the name? it's a playful nod to how some English folk say "hond" (Afrikaans for "dog")- they pronounce it "hont". So we claimed it. A little play on words. A little play on pets.

What we believe

At hont Co. we design for the modern home - and the animals who live in it. Our pieces are created with love, care and a strong belief that functional things can also be beautiful. We believe in craft over clutter and elevated design for the animals we adore. Pet products shouldn't be an eyesore. So we create essentials with clean, calm, modern design that is made to last.

Where we're headed

We're starting small - with dog leads. But the dream is much bigger. Think sculptural cat scratchers that double as decor and beds that don't ruin your lounge.
